Born in Balcarres, Saskatchewan, Dave moved to Regina at age four. While at high school in Regina, he was introduced to the Art world, through courses at his local high-school.

He moved to Winnipeg, for University, and developed his interest in design and watercolour rendering, while attending Architecture at the University of Manitoba.

Retiring from a 30 year career in the teaching profession in 1994, Dave was able to spend more time designing homes, painting in watercolour, and sketching with pencil and ink.

Dave has been commissioned for many pieces of art and his work can be found in homes from Toronto to Vancouver, as well as in the United States.

Moving from Winnipeg to Gimli in 1999, he has been able to dedicate more time near the water and in the surrounding country side, which is reflected in his latest works.
